Nashville Fashion Week 2012: March 20 - 24, 2012 / Fashion Forward Fund

Right before I was about to delve into some stimulating homework formulating research questions and purpose statements for my dissertation, I hopped onto Facebook and was delighted to hear that the dates for the next Nashville Fashion Week have been announced! The now-yearly fashion event will take place March 20-24, 2012, and I'm sure we'll hear more updates on NFW as the months continue on. But for the time being, mark your calendars ladies and gentlemen. I'm sure our NFW team will not disappoint!

The Nashville Fashion Forward Fund Seeks Applicants for New Award

Award Made Possible by Proceeds from Lexus Nashville Fashion Week 2011

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (September 16, 2011) – The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is now seeking applicants for the new Nashville Fashion Forward Fund, an endowed fund established with the proceeds from Lexus Nashville Fashion Week 2011.

The Nashville Fashion Forward Fund was established to support the next generation of fashion industry professionals with ties to Middle Tennessee and will provide financial awards for professional development. Application guidelines and forms are now online at www.cfmt.org/nashvillefashionforward/ and are due October 31, 2011. Award recipients will be selected by a committee of the Board of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and announced in mid-December.

The establishment of the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund was inspired by the professional development provided by the Council of Fashion Designers (CFDA) through programs such as the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. The Nashville Fashion Forward Fund ensures that Nashville Fashion Week is not just a signature high-profile event to celebrate creativity, but also an ongoing, sustainable focus for philanthropic support.

“Through this endowed fund, Nashville Fashion Week can have a long-term impact on our community’s creative talent,” said Ellen Lehman, president of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. “As the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund grows with the proceeds from Nashville Fashion Week 2012 and future fashion weeks, so will the support that is available to the next generation of talent in this industry.”

Nashville Fashion Week 2012 will be held March 20–24, 2012 and is being planned by Creative Co-op Nashville, LLC, a volunteer collaboration of fashion, retail and media professionals who have partnered to combine their resources and passion for this event.
