February 15, 2011
One of the music industry’s leading entertainers, Faith Hill, will be featured as the special guest musical artist at the 2011 Symphony Spring Fashion Show. This year’s event will showcase the 2011 fall collection of internationally recognized design team Marchesa, presented by Marissa Collections of Naples, Fla. Co-chaired by Janet Bentz and Johnna Watson, the fashion show will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. All proceeds will benefit the Nashville Symphony and its music education programs, including the Thor Johnson Scholarship Fund. “We are so honored that Faith Hill will join us for the 2011 Symphony Spring Fashion Show,” says Watson. “In addition to being an amazing artist, she is also considered a fashion icon by those in the industry.” Adds Bentz, “Faith’s presence is more meaningful because she believes so strongly in promoting music education. Her appearance at the Symphony Spring Fashion Show perfectly complements this event.” A five-time GRAMMY® Award winner, Hill possesses a voice that is as powerful as it is recognizable. Her 17-year career has been highlighted by the sale of more than 30 million records worldwide, during which time she has celebrated 13 singles and 20 videos that topped the charts. She has earned three Country Music Association Awards; 12 Academy of Country Music Awards; four American Music Awards and four People’s Choice Awards. Marchesa co-founders Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig met at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and subsequently established the Marchesa label in 2004. Their unique designs have gone on to garner international acclaim — in 2006, the label was named one of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund's top 10 finalists — and can be spotted at red carpet events in Hollywood and around the world. Their designs have been worn by such stars as Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria and Halle Berry. For more information on Marchesa, please visit http://www.marchesa.com. Marissa Collections is owned by Marissa and Burt Hartington and has been named by Vogue as one of the top 25 warm weather boutiques, and by Women’s Wear Daily as one of the top 10 specialty stores in America. A trunk show will be held Wednesday, April 27, at Spaces in Belle Meade. For more information on Marissa Collections, please visit http://www.marissacollections.com .
