RAW Nashville Semi Final Showcase: November 17, 2011

It's that time of the month again... yeah, I'm talking RAW. On Thursday, November 17, 2011, the artist showcase is back at Mercy Lounge. Check it out from 8:00 to 11:00 PM, and RSVP to Facebook here.


Over 3,000 that have participated in RAW showcases this year have been narrowed down to 792 Semi-Finals nominees. The RAW:Nashville nominees will showcase the best of their artistic ability in the Nashville Semi Final Showcase taking place on November 17th 2011 at MERCY LOUNGE. Competition categories include film, fashion, music, visual art, performing art, hair and makeup artistry, accessories and photography. 

Over 30 artists will be nominated to perform and compete for the national RAWards in January at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. This event will be in part sponsored by Lotus Energy Drink, Noomizo, The Double Standard and TBA local businesses throughout the Metro Nashville Area. An interactive live process will occur the night of and the first 100 guests receive swag bags.

The winner’s will be revealed in mid-December via a video announcement. The winners will then have the opportunity to travel to Hollywood, CA in January to be honored and featured at the 2011 RAWards Show at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Judges include a lineup of established movers and shakers in creative industries ranging from reality TV competition winners to long-time industry professionals, this year’s panel includes: Don Grierson (Former A&R Capitol Records), Brig Van Osten (Winner of Bravo’s Sheer Genius) and Chloe Dao (Winner of Bravo’s Project Runway 2), among many others.

RAWards winners receive big career boosting prizes like store placement, studio time, gallery placement and consultations with industry executives. Among this year’s prizes are feature editorials on ArtSlant.com, Raine Magazine and UK-based Flux Magazine. Winners will also receive consultations with industry professionals such as music consultant, Don Grierson and Chloe Dao, fashion designer and winner of Project Runway 2. RAW will also offer a “Golden Ticket” to each winner providing the opportunity to tour the United States and the 21 RAW showcase locations in 2012.
