NASHVILLE, Tennessee (February 16, 2012) — Designers Sylvia Heisel and Catherine Fulmer will show collections at Lexus Nashville Fashion Week, joining previously confirmed designers Eva Franco, Randi Rahm, T. Rains and Versace Collection.

Sylvia Heisel, who showed her collection at last year’s first Nashville Fashion Week, will travel from New York for this year’s runway show on Saturday, March 24 at the Pinnacle at Symphony Place in downtown Nashville.

“The amazing mix of great music, wonderful style, Southern hospitality and positive energy that is Nashville inspires me,” said Heisel, “I am thrilled, excited, and very, very happy to be a part of Nashville Fashion Week 2012.”

The Sylvia Heisel label embodies simplicity, creativity, technology, sustainability and quality. Influenced as much by contemporary art and design as the fashion world, Heisel’s line focuses on wardrobe and lifestyle staples, reinventing them with new cuts, construction and fabrications. Of Turkish heritage and raised in East Africa and New Jersey, Heisel’s transcultural perspective informs her designs with a unique view of the world. A CFDA member since 1997 and a visual artist as well as a designer, Heisel creates and consults on sustainable temporary interiors, environments, displays and events. Heisel, in partnership with her husband, Scott Taylor, makes places, objects and experiences that combine contemporary design, art, fashion, culture, technology and lifestyle.

Designer Catherine Fulmer, who has recently relocated to Nashville from New York, will show her collection on Wednesday, March 21 at Marathon Music Works.
"I was fortunate enough to attend the inaugural Nashville Fashion Week in 2011, and I couldn’t be more proud to present this year,” said Fulmer. “This makes my permanent move to Music City feel so much more right than it already did, and Nashville is one of the most unique places I've ever lived.”

Born in Palm Springs, Fulmer moved to New York at the age of 18, and after stints at the Fashion Institute of Technology and V Magazine, she began to create custom made garments. Since 2003, she has shown during fashion weeks in New York and Los Angeles and has been featured in Vanity Fair, Elle, Teen Vogue, French Vogue and The New Yorker, and has had her work on the cover of Women’s Wear Daily

To date, Nashville Fashion Week organizers have confirmed six designers for the week. On Tuesday, March 20, T. Rains will show at Marathon Music Works. On Wednesday, March 21, Eva Franco joins Catherine Fulmer at Marathon Music Works. Both a men’s and women’s line from the Versace Collection will headline the runway show on Friday, March 23 at Nashville’s historic Parthenon in Centennial Park. On Saturday, March 24, Randi Rahm joins Sylvia Heisel at the Pinnacle at Symphony Place in downtown Nashville. Additional designers will be announced as they are confirmed.
