With an upcoming trip to Panama City Beach at the end of the month, all I can think about is sunny skies, palm trees, oversized hats, and me on the beach sipping fruity drinks. Ahhh..... So, when I saw this upcoming event for new retailer Plucky, I can't help but be on board. I'm DYING for that lobster and anchor cell phone cover; too bad I don't have a fancy phone! But if you'd like to purchase it for me, I'll be sure to get on the iPhone trend asap.

Zoora Trunk Show @ Lucy Pop Salon: February 11, 2012

Zoo-ra.com - a members-only online boutique offering customizable and made-to-measure clothing from independent designers - is celebrating the recent launch by taking our designers' SS12 samples on the road for a traveling trunk show. The holiday spirit is upon us and local trunk shows and events are popping up everywhere. I'm planning on attending several upcoming events in the hopes of purchasing gifts local this year. We'll see if I'm able to hit everybody on my list!

The trunk show will feature and sell clothing from fashion designer Elie Tahari’s latest line and will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at The Noah Liff Opera Center. Tahari’s team will also be available to consult with and educate shoppers about the latest fashion trends.

World-renowned fashion designer Elie Tahari has created timeless fashions for women and men for years, and will be revealing his fall clothing line during the trunk show. Tahari was one of the first designers to open a boutique on Madison Avenue in New York in the 1970s and today has a global presence in more than 40 countries, including 600 U.S. stores and free-standing boutiques.

In addition to showcasing Tahari’s latest fashions, the trunk show event will feature food and beverages prepared by Park Manor Executive Chef Michael Snyder.

King of Fresh Clothing Trunk Show @ Bullets & Mullets: July 30, 2011

Bullets & Mullets will be hosting a trunk show featuring the recent collection of designer King of Fresh Clothing. The trunk show will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Bullets & Mullets retail location (1108 Division Street). The KOFC line includes an assortment of graphic t-shirts, infused with clever phrases and pops of hot pink, electric blue, and blood reds. Prices are in an affordable $32 to $35 range. Pearl Southern Couture will be having a trunk show at Monkees Nashville this Thursday, April 30, 2011 to Sunday, May 2, 2011 from 10:30 am - 7:00 pm at Monkees location on Hilsboro Pike. According to the Pearl Southern Couture website, the line was "founded in May 2008, Pearl is a Southern Inspired Dress Line. Monique Lhuillier Trunk Show @ Gus Mayer: April 21 - 22, 2011

I have been obsessed with designer Monique Lhuillier since the Spring Symphony fashion show several years ago (which my students worked at backstage, coincidentally.) Her garments are exquisite and I hope one day I'll have a reason to both purchase and wear one of these gems. And in celebration of the new Fall 2011 collection, Gus Mayer is hosting a trunk show April 21 - 22, 2011 at their Green Hills Mall location. Seriously, if you buy me a Monique Lhuiller dress there's a strong possibility I just be your best friend forever.

The Cotton Mill is hosting a trunk show for By Smith by Smith Sinron April 14 - 16, 2011 for the Spring 2011 collection. The pieces, as pictured on The Cotton Mill's Facebook page, consist of dresses and tops in bright shiny shades of hot pink, teal, purple, kelly green, ox blue, and gold. These don't exactly fit my personal style, but as the flyer says, these could be good pieces for Easter, the Derby, Steeplechase, or summer weddings.

Coqutte Trunk Show Featuring Judith Bright and Justine Sylvie: March 29 - April 2, 2011

More and more fashion events keep popping up in conjunction with the upcoming Nashville Fashion Week. I am loving this! And my calendar couldn't be more jam packed with fun festivities. THANK GOD this is finals week for my students, and i.e. next week I don't have to teach! Now with that being said, of course I have one million things to do to prepare for the upcoming quarter in addition to my usual load of one billion pages to read and a thousand papers to write for my Doctorate classes... but nonetheless, I may actually have some free time to hit up these siiiiiiiick fashion happenings. 

I had to give a shout out to my girl Judith Bright and their upcoming trunk show associated with Coquette and hats by Justine Sylvie. The event will take place March 29 - April 2, 2011 at the Judith Bright store in Green Hills Mall. How ridiculously fun does this look?! Annnnnd, I've seen my student who interned at JB sporting some of their latest jewelry designs, and omg, I died. Love it!!

Heavy Metal Jewelry Trunk Show: March 13, 2011

Now, I’m not talking Mötley Crüe (har, har. I know).. Buuuuut, there will be a Heavy Metal by LW Jewelry Trunk Show on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 4 – 7 PM. And if this necklace is an indicator of the merchandise for the Spring 2011 collection, I’m pretty sure you can’t go wrong with these pieces.

Customers will receive 15% off all jewelry and custom orders. Wine and refreshments will be served. The event takes place at Eyeris Studios (15 Hermitage Ave.) and is hosted by Sarah Gutin Beaty of Eyeris Photography.
